Genesis 11v1And all the earth had one language and one tongue.Genesis 11v2And it came about that in their wandering from the east, they came to a stretch of flat country in the land of Shinar, and there they made their living-place.Genesis 11v3And they said one to another, Come, let us make bricks, burning them well. And they had bricks for stone, putting them together with sticky earth.Genesis 11v4And they said, Come, let us make a town, and a tower whose top will go up as high as heaven; and let us make a great name for ourselves, so that we may not be wanderers over the face of the earth.Genesis 11v5And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.Genesis 11v6And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.Genesis 11v7Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.Genesis 11v8So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.Genesis 11v9So it was named Babel, because there the Lord took away the sense of all languages and from there the Lord sent them away over all the face of the earth.Genesis 11v10These are the generations of Shem. Shem was a hundred years old when he became the father of Arpachshad, two years after the great flow of waters;Genesis 11v11And after the birth of Arpachshad, Shem went on living for five hundred years, and had sons and daughters:Genesis 11v12And Arpachshad was thirty-five years old when he became the father of Shelah:Genesis 11v13And after the birth of Shelah, Arpachshad went on living for four hundred and three years, and had sons and daughters:Genesis 11v14And Shelah was thirty years old when he became the father of Eber:Genesis 11v15And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.Genesis 11v16And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg:Genesis 11v17And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.Genesis 11v18And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:Genesis 11v19And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters.Genesis 11v20And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug:Genesis 11v21And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.Genesis 11v22And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor:Genesis 11v23And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.Genesis 11v24And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:Genesis 11v25And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.Genesis 11v26And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.Genesis 11v27Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.Genesis 11v28And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.Genesis 11v29And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.Genesis 11v30And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.Genesis 11v31And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.Genesis 11v32And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.
